Miguel Moreira

Associate Professor at Universidade Atlântica in Lisbon, where he coordinates the Air Transport Management BSc Degree, and teaches in the Aeronautical, Materials, Mechanical Engineering degrees. He holds a PhD in Astrophysics, a MSc. and BSc. in Theoretical Physics from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where he was a researcher at the Center for Astronomy & Astrophysics From 1995 to 2012. He has 15 years of experience in developing and implementing aviation-related higher education curricula for under-graduate (BSc.) and graduate (MSc.) degrees in Portugal. He collaborated with QQI - Quality and Qualifications Ireland, as member of an international panel of experts for approval of new higher education degrees in Ireland in the field of Aeronautics & Aviation. Co-founder of the Standardization Technical Committee CT190 on Aviation, Space and Defense of IPQ - Instituto Português da Qualidade. He is also an airplane private pilot since 2008, and for 4 years (2013 - 2017) joined the airline pilot academy G Air Training Center as the Quality Manager, and Director of Programs, Studies & Research, being responsible for the business development for the B2B segment concerning partnerships with universities worldwide. He was also the Director of the G Air Training Centre in Ponte de Sor (Portugal). He is the Quality Manager of the LPSO Municipal Aerodrome and Senior Consultant for Strategic Development of the Ponte de Sor Aerospace Cluster. He is an invited peer reviewer for the International Journal of Business Performance Management.
